Cobia “Ling” Fishing

Large Cobia "Ling" caught in Perdido Key, FLCobia (aka “Ling”) show up in the northern Gulf of Mexico between late February and early March. Cobia are monstrous fish that make a seasonal migration from east to west along the Emerald Coast. Reaching 100+ pounds, cobia are generally spotted along sand bars very close to the coast line. These powerful giants are “cruisin’ the beach” in search of a variety of ocean prey. Live eels seem to be the favorite bait, especially for finicky Cobia…

 


Deep Drop Offshore Fishing

Some of the tastiest fish in the sea live DEEP! On our deep drop fishing trips we head for 60+ fathoms (300+ feet) of water! Dinner delicacies like Grey Tilefish, Golden Tilefish, Black Grouper, Warsaw Grouper, and Yellow Grouper lurk over “the edge”! The continental shelf curves inland between Destin and Pensacola bringing access to deep water much closer to shore than a vast majority of the Gulf Coast.
